I cant believe it has already been 7 weeks since Shawn was born. It has been so busy at home with two kids and with the holiday season that I cannot believe that time just flew by. Thank God that Steve took a lot of time off work to help out and spend time with the whole family. It has been such a roller coaster ride these past few weeks. From feeding, burping, changing diapers every 2-3 hours.
My Shawn now has grown from a newborn diaper size to a size 1 since his 3rd week. He is now 57 cm tall and weights 12 lbs. He loves being carried close to the chest and hates burping while sitting on my lap. He loves the swing and he falls asleep soundly when on it. He also loves sleeping on his tummy (we occasionally let him nap on his tummy during the day while we keep a close eye on him). He can do tummy time for a good 5 minutes without complaining but now has learned the art of crying with tears when he doesn't get what he wants. I think I saw a genuine smile the other day from him but my husband insists that it was not his first. :) How I wish he would show it more often. He has been a blessing to us in every single way. He has showered us not only with pee, poo and spit ups but also with joy and happiness that is unimaginable. Even at 7 weeks we have learned so much from him especially his big sister Sam. She has learned to be gentle and loving to a baby she only met 7 weeks ago. Sam also learned how to adjust into being a big sister and also having the compassionate heart of a big sister. (We are just so proud of her'!). Shawn has reminded us that we as parents should be patient and to always be there for the kids because we are their world.
